Helter Skeletons Limited

Helter Skeletons Limited is a lifestyle apparel company that I started with two partners in 2004. I teamed up with marine scientists Grant Stoecklin and Erick Ault to create authentic marine skeletal apparel. Grant and Erick had refined a museum process for cleaning and mounting real fish skeletons in shadow boxes. I was able to capture unique images of the skeletons and enhance them on screen, to be printed on products such as clothing, hats, belts, license plates, decals, and art prints. The brand won best of show at ICAST, the world’s largest fishing trade show. Helter Skeletons Limited was featured in many popular publications and magazines during its existence. The challenge of this project was to “SEE WHAT’S INSIDE” fish in an aesthetically appealing way. Here is what we came up with.
